The Petrae are a form of memorial installations found throughout the land of Primmeanem which consists of inscriptions about the ancient history of the world and the divinities in the setting of Ex Natura. Written in the ancient tongue of Primogenitors, any sentient being that comes in contact with these lorestones can sense and understand their meaning, regardless if they speak the Primogenitor language or not. The origins of the stones are unknown even to the gods, yet their explanation of the events resonates true and accurate as if they were written by a firsthand witness.
Approximately two millennia ago, when the world was but a charred playground to the gods, arose a being whose form was all but a primogenitor yet with the force of a god. With Her being was the humanity as we know made manifest, and with Her the cycle of life and death brought to the land.
The Worldtree, the bridge between man and god sprouted on the selfsame spot of Her ascension. Acting as a gateway of the land towards the heavens, it is an icon of divine connection and man's origin of creation. A place of raw power and pure lifestream, it is a living relic of the divine era, respected by all tribes and nations and dubbed as a sacred ground.
Time to time emboldened fools trespass upon the sacred ground of the World Tree, arrogantly aiming to slay gods themselves to replace them. Blind to the knowledge that World Tree, as a symbol of mankind's ascension, can hear a man's true intent and feel his heart. On a divine purpose to preserve stability between man and heavens, it saps the lifeforce of any ill-witted beings approaching its roots. Rejoining them into the cycle of destruction and rebirth firsthand.
